Licences, passengers and rentals
Do I need a licence to ride an electric vehicle in Kinmen?
Only micro electric two-wheelers are exempt from a scooter licence. Standard electric scooters and petrol scooters still require the relevant moped or motorcycle licence.
Can a micro electric two-wheeler carry a passenger?
No. Passengers are not allowed, the top speed is 25 km/h, and the rider must be at least 14 with the vehicle registered, insured and wearing an approved helmet.
Should I book a rental in advance?
For shared vehicles, complete the app registration at least three days ahead. For holidays and busy seasons, reserve a specific model and confirm return stations.
Where should I park when visiting the headquarters?
Houpu old town has narrow lanes, so park in a legal bay or public car park in Jincheng and continue on foot. Walking or the bus is often easier.
